Types of Presentations

Presentation categories:

If you have been selected as an oral presenter, you will be presenting to our live, in person audience at the Congress venue. We will also stream sessions through the virtual platform for virtual attendees. We will make all presentations available on demand for up to three months following the Congress. If you want us to remove your content before this deadline, please let us know. Please consider how our audience might interact with your presentation when you are preparing your slides.

Both in person and virtual attendees will be able to ask questions, either directly by putting up their hand in the room or by submitting their question through the virtual platform or Congress app. For additional information, read our frequently asked questions. We will provide further details and a full briefing for all speakers closer to the event.

Scientific content requirements

As a scientific Congress, your presentation must reference the evidence supporting the topic. This should include at least one slide listing key references.

One of the Congress objectives is to help delegates apply new insights in their own settings. Please address any challenges you faced in implementing your findings or potential barriers others may encounter.

These elements are essential for educational accreditation and will be subject to external review.

Short oral presenters (P)

Short oral presentations offer an opportunity to share research in an interactive setting immediately following each of the poster sessions. If you have been selected to give a short oral presentation, we will make this clear in your abstract notification email.

Publication Consent

We will ask all presenters whether they are happy for their presentation to be available on the virtual platform for up to three months post-event and potentially on the WMS website and social media for members to access. If you don't consent, your presentation recording, and related recorded Q&A session, will be available for viewing during the Congress and then removed within approximately two weeks after the Congress.

If we don't have a record of your consent from your registration, we will follow up separately by emailing you a consent form.
