Interesting Case Discussions - submit your case now

At WMS 2023 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, we launched a live interesting cases discussion session to the Congress programme. This session provided an opportunity for our international audience to can work together and combine their knowledge and expertise to advance or even solve complex patient cases. Since that first year, the session has grown in popularity. Following feedback in the WMS 2024 Congress evaluation, we have extended the time for the session and moved it to the main Congress hall to ensure there's space for everyone who wants to participate. We have also moved it a day earlier, to enable conversations about the cases to continue after the session.

Anyone who has registered to attend WMS 2025 in Vienna, Austria is invited to submit their interesting neuromuscular cases to be considered for presentation during the 90 minute-long Interesting Case Discussions Session (Thursday 9^th October, 07:45-09:15). We will invite the submitting author for each of the chosen cases to present their case at the Interesting Case Discussions Session. We hope to feature as many cases as possible during this session.

Key Dates

The deadline for interesting case submissions is 15 September 2025. We will notify selected presenters by 25th September 2025.

Submission guidelines

• Interesting cases must be submitted via the official submission link, which we sent to all registered delegates by email on 17^th July 2025. The link will also be included in registration confirmation emails for those who register after this date
• The deadline for submitting cases is 15^th September 2025 (midnight BST)
• Cases with accompanying histology and/or ultrastructural/EM images are highly encouraged
• Your case submission must include a maximum of four images summarising the details - clinical history, family history, key examination findings, CK, muscle MRI (if performed), myositis antibody results (if performed), genetic testing findings and any other relevant results of either a solved/diagnosed case or an unsolved/undiagnosed case

We will review all submitted cases, and those not used during the Congress session may be considered by the Featured Cases Committee for further discussion or by the Myology Developments Across the World Committee for discussion in a future Myology Café.
